week five - big birds and hoppy days

My Busia knitted me this quilt for my Easter photo!

We have had an eventful week!  Gavin seems to be settling into his formula switch.  His tummy appears less bloated and he is content most of the time now.  His fussy time has cut down immensely.  Next week we have a doctors appointment to check on his progress and maybe we can begin integrating small amounts of breast milk :)

Tuesday we had a playdate with Jessie and Roderick.  I learned how to wrap a Moby...thank you Jessie; and Gavin and Roderick got to eat lunch and sleep!  We hope to play again soon and maybe this time take some photos :)
Momma, Moby, and Me
Wednesday we drove Alan to the "Big Bird" for his week back home.  It was Gavin's first long car ride which he slept through.  I must say Gavin misses his Daddy.  We cannot wait for him to return home tomorrow.  Gavin did get to have his first Skype experience with his Dad which was great!  Technology is amazing.

Of course we spent some time with Auntie Elissa and Uncle Tim this week at their home!  They are so nice to let us stop by.  Auntie Elissa loves to feed Gavin and Uncle Time sings to him :)  We also met Auntie Elissa's brother who got to hold Gavin.

We also spent some time this week walking in the beautifulness of Spring!  We took a walk on the bike path in Falmouth with Jessica and Dylan and in our neighborhood.  On Saturday Gavin got to meet the Easter Bunny At Walgreens where they were offering free photos.  He was asleep through the experience but received many smiling faces from the staff.

Easter day we spent with Pop and Busia.  We ate some yumminess and Gavin got his first Easter Basket!  He also tried out his swing which he enjoyed.  Though his Busia dressed him up while he was sleeping and took silly photos of him while I was vacuuming lol.

week four - new friends and new food

My Busia (grandma) made this blanket for me!

It is amazing how much Gavin has grown in the past few weeks.  Our visiting nurse Amy came and it appears that Gavin is weighing over 8 pounds.  WOW!  That is more than two pounds gained.  He is growing fast as you can probably tell from the photos in this blog.

This week was also full of good times with friends.  We celebrated a panini birthday extravaganza with a good friend, and mom and dad had a night out for dinner while Auntie Elissa and Uncle Tim babysat for their first time.

Also we have been trying to figure out this thing called FOOD!  Gavin's belly is not happy with milk products so we are working to find a right fit.  As for now we are working on some things that should work.  We have his first month appointment this week and hopefully we will figure out what our next steps will be.  As for now, Alan and I will push through the diarrhea from his new diet....though it is smelly!

Phoebe and CJ visited me too!

One of my very new outfits from Uncle Tim's mommy and daddy....thank you!

Week Three - Moving Again

This is the first blanket my moma bought me.
Week three and moving again.  During Gavin's journey in the belly Alan and I moved four times and now again we are moving.  The house has sold so off to the cabin we go, however stuff does not really fit as it once did.  With Gavin's stuff and ours well lets just say I have worn the same thing for multiple days unable to find my clothes.

Gavin is a growing boy.  I am sure he is close to 8 pounds....how amazing.  He learned how to dance with his dad this week and we have some fantastic video to show off his moves.  I will have to pull it up and post it soon.  His eye and diaper rash are so much better!!!  He has been super gassy though...which has made for some rough nights.  We introduced some gas drops which seem to be working....cross those fingers :)  Still in love :)

Two Weeks - Finding Our Way

This is a blanket from my dad's grandma.
Week two and we are all getting used to life with no sleep.  We have introduced a bottle for Gavin which allows moma to sleep a bit.  Alan is so wonderful about staying up with Gavin at night!  Its amazing to see Gavin grow.  He lost weight at first getting to 5 pounds 6 ounces....but swiftly moved his way back up.  He did have an infection in his eye which made him not so happy and some diaper rash that was not so nice.  Life outside the womb can be tough.  I am in love!

We also had our very first playdate this week with Clara and Meghan :)

Also Dad taught me how to dance this week!

Week One - Coming Home

This is the blanket my moma slept with as a little girl.
Gavin arrived home this week and Alan and I began our journey as parents together.  He loves to eat and can't get enough...my milkers are quiet tired and sore.  We plan to introduce a bottle to supplement him and get mom some rest.  We went to our first doctor visit this week to get checked out and we met Amy our visiting nurse.  She will continue to keep Gavin as a case as we watch him grow.  He is so beautiful...sorry handsome :)

Here are some photos of Gavin and his favorite friends :) Thanks to everyone for everything they do!

Gavin's birth was a wonderful experience full of surprise and joy.  Many happy tears were shed!  This blog will be a journey of his weeks to come as Alan and I "raise gar"!  My father who would like to be referred to as Pop calls Gavin - Gar - due to his initials.  So Gar it is :)

Here I am with my Busia and Pop just after I was born :)
Here is my dad rocking me to sleep :)
